چکیده

A novel DWDM channel monitoring technique based on the conversion fromwavelength domain to time domain by performing a real-time optical Fourier transform over the whole DWDM system bandwidth is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The use of chromatic dispersion-based optical Fourier transformers has been validated in the case of a spectrum comprising light from different uncorrelated sources. Linear and nonlinear crosstalks between the DWDM channels appear as amplitude noise at specific time positions. The correspondence of this amplitude noise with the crosstalk spectral distribution is evaluated theoretically and experimentally.

Analytical modeling to evaluate the effect of cross phase modulation on WDM optical Networks

In the modern world of technology, data rates up to 40 Gb/s are becoming a reality and the bandwidth hungry applications such as teleconferencing, telemedicine, IPTV have already begun to make their presence in the commercial market. These bandwidth hungry applications attract the need for optical communications in which the fibers can theoretically provide infinite bandwidth. In order to satis...

Simulation and Analysis the Performance of 3970 Km DWDM Transmission Link Employing Optimized Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers

In this paper first we try to analysis the behavior ofthe SOAs in the optical networks and then have proposed anumerical simple model to simulate the behavior of thesemiconductor optical amplifiers. After that by employing thismodel as inline amplifier for a DWDM optical system, we havesimulated the transmission of 10 channels with bit rate 10 Gb/sup to distance 3970 km with RZ-DPSK modulation ...

Crosstalk Analysis of an Acousto-Optic Tunable Filter Based Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer for DWDM System

Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) system is limited by different impairments like optical attenuation, crosstalk, chromatic dispersion, polarization mode dispersion, Scattering etc. All of these impairments restrict the transmission distance and bandwidth. In the Present Scenario the DWDM system needs significant improvement, where analyzing the crosstalk of an Acousto-Optic Tunable...

32-channel Optical Interleaver/deinterlea- Ver Using Fibonacci Quasi-periodic Struc- Tures

The design of Interleaver/Deinterleavers using Fibonacciclass quasistructures is proposed. We introduce an optical passive configuration composed of Fibonacci quasistructures and circulators which acts as interleaver and deinterleaver. Odd and even channels are interleaved/deinterleaved with dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) multichannel filter based on Fibonacci quasi-periodic stru...
